Tehillim + Privacy Policy

Tehillim + is published by Mazal Tech LLC, Los Angeles, California, USA ("we", "us").

• Reading Tehillim, Tikkun HaKlali, Daily Tehillim, saved psalms and reminders work entirely on your device. We don't receive any of it.
• Groups is optional. If you use it, we store the group information you create and the display name you choose, using Google Firebase.
• We don't use ads or analytics, we don't track you, and we don't sell or share your information for advertising.

The following is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:

• Reading progress, saved (bookmarked) psalms and display preferences
• Daily reminder settings
• Hebrew calendar calculations, which are done on your device
• Your list of blocked users and groups you've hidden from the Groups directory

Uninstalling the app deletes this information.

Groups lets people share the reading of Tehillim: members claim psalms, mark them done, and admins can post an announcement. You don't have to use Groups to use the rest of the app.

Anonymous sign-in. When you first open Groups, the app signs you in anonymously with Firebase Authentication. This creates a random user ID. We don't ask for your email address, password or phone number.

What we store when you use Groups:

Who can see it. Public groups appear in a directory that anyone using the app can browse and join. Private groups aren't listed in the directory and are joined with an invite code. Your display name, claims and the group's announcements are visible to other people who use the group. Please don't put sensitive personal information in group names, display names or announcements, including health details about yourself or others.

You can report a group, a member or an announcement. A report contains: what kind of thing you reported, the group's ID, the reported member's anonymous ID (for member reports), the reason you chose, any details you typed (up to 500 characters), your anonymous user ID, the time it was sent and the platform (Android or iOS). Reports can't be read by other users. We review reports and may remove content or groups that break our rules. We keep a report only as long as we need it to review it and keep Groups safe.

Blocking a user or hiding a group affects only your own device. The other person isn't notified, and nothing about it is sent to us.

Groups data is stored using Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication, services operated by Google LLC. Google processes this data on our behalf to provide these services, and may process technical information such as your IP address and device type to run and secure them. Data is encrypted in transit between the app and Firebase. Google may store and process data in the United States and other countries where it operates.

• Location, contacts, photos or files
• Financial or payment information
• Health or fitness data from your device
• Advertising ID or other tracking identifiers

Tehillim + has no ads and no analytics SDKs. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising or tracking.

The daily Tehillim reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device at the time you choose. We don't use push notification services, and no notification data is sent to us. You can turn the reminder off in the app's Settings or in your device's settings.

The app may ask you to rate it using the built-in Google Play or App Store review prompt. That prompt is handled by Google or Apple; we don't receive your rating or review through the app.

• Group data stays in Firebase until it is deleted.
• Leaving a group removes your membership. Psalm claims you made in that group, with your display name, remain part of the group's record until an admin deletes the group.
• Deleting a group (admins) permanently removes the group and all its data: memberships, claims, announcements and its invite code.
• Asking us to delete your data. Email privacy@mazalconsulting.comand ask us to delete the data linked to your anonymous user ID. Because the app doesn't ask for your name or email, include the names of the groups you joined and the display name you used, so we can find your records. We'll confirm when it's done.
• Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on your device, including your saved psalms, settings and block and hide lists. It doesn't delete group data stored in Firebase; use the options above for that.

Tehillim + is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information through Groups, contact us and we'll delete it.

If you live in California, you have the right to:

• know what personal information we collect, use and disclose;
• ask us to delete it;
• ask us to correct inaccurate information; and
• not be discriminated against for using these rights.

In the last 12 months, the categories of personal information we collected through Groups were identifiers (anonymous user ID) and user-generated content (display name, group names, claims, announcements and reports), for the purposes described in this policy. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. To make a request, email privacy@mazalconsulting.com. We may need to ask for details, such as your group names and display name, to verify your request.

Mazal Tech LLC is the controller of the Groups data described above. We process it:

• to provide Groups at your request (performance of a contract); and
• for our legitimate interests in keeping Groups safe, including reviewing reports and preventing abuse.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To use these rights, email privacy@mazalconsulting.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

When your data is transferred outside your country, including to the United States, we rely on Google's safeguards for international transfers, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.

We may update this policy when the app changes. We'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or in the store listing.
